Connecting an existing Story Map to the hierarchy

1. Navigate to the Story Maps page and find the parent Story Map that you wish to connect your existing Story Map to.

2. Navigate to the Map → Activity tab and identify the backbone Activity under which your Story Map will reside as a child Story Map, open the Options (gear icon), and select Information.

3. Enter the name of the Story Map you wish to connect as a child story map in the “Link a story map” field. This will search for a Story Map with the name typed in the field. Once the options have loaded, select the desired Story Map from the dropdown menu, then click the +Add button.

Disconnecting a story map from the hierarchy

1. Open the Story Map map in question and navigate to the “Frame & Overview” tab.

2. Open

   

   Open up the parent activity link next to the Story Map name. and click the open Story Map arrow Icon.

3. Navigate to the Map → Activity tab and identify the backbone activity under which the child Story Map currently resides, open the Options (gear icon), and select Information.

4. In the “Story Map link” field, select click the delete icon next to the field.

5. In the popup dialog, click the “DELETE“ button.
