Release Roadmap
Build and view mode
When viewing the release roadmap by default it will be in view mode. Release roadmaps can now go into build mode where users can add and move epics from the roadmap screen.
Selecting “Roadmap type“ → “Release roadmap build mode“ will allow the user to further build out the roadmap.
Creating releases from the roadmap
Users can create releases from the release roadmap while in the “Filter“ popup.
Select the “Filter“ icon. In the popup screen, type in the Releases field. While typing users will see a option with the postfix of “(NEW)”. If selected, this will create a new release in the Story Map, with the name being the text the user typed.
Adding an Epic from the roadmap
Users can now add Epics from the roadmap while in build mode. Within each cross-section between an Activity and a Release, there is an “Add“ icon. Clicking this icon will open a popup where the user can add an Epic. The add epic icon will not appear on activities that are not expanded and have children.
In the popup, users will need to select either a Who/When/Data/Where or Free text as the epic name. This will be used as the Epic name. From this screen, users can either select existing Explore Items, if some exist already or create new ones. Existing Explore Items will be shown in a drop-down list. If the user doesn’t select an existing Explore Item the text in the field will be used to create a new one.
Moving Epics
Using the drag icon, Epics can be moved between releases. Simply drag and drop An epic from one release into another.
Thing to note
Epics can only be moved in the same column, this means that Epics can only be moved to other releases within the same Activity.
Currently, Epics can’t be moved if they have integration links. This restriction will be lifted in a later update.
Epics can’t be moved in or out of completed releases.
